Welcome to the Holy Isle Artist blog. My name is Martin Davies and I was a resident volunteer on the Holy Isle, a small island off the Isle of Arran on the west coast of Scotland, during 2010. This is a record of the environmental art that I made during the year.
Red Rubbed Circle ll, July 2010
A couple of months earlier I had rubbed away the vegetation in a circle to expose the bare rock. Over time, it evolved, the mossy growth fading away, to leave this ghostly pale circle.
